A healthy source of water was just the beginning.

Bruce Neeld, founder and President of Boulder Salt wanted to drink the best water he could find. Something free of contaminants, both organic and inorganic, and void of biological activity. So he decided to make it himself.  He distilled it.  He filtered it.  He drank it.  He did indeed come up with a very “pure’ water, but being devoid of minerals the taste was rather flat. He realized that a healthy source of water was just the beginning. It should taste good too!

The perfect blend of electrolytes.

Over time, he added in a blend of sodium and potassium bicarbonates, giving the water a more palatable taste and bringing up the pH level.

Already having an acute understanding of how difficult it is for a person to get all of their electrolytes from whole food sources, Bruce went a step further – experimenting with various types of salt, trace element mixtures, various nutrients, etc.

A naturally-balanced body.

Ultimately he settled upon the perfect blend of electrolytes – a unique combination of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium that naturally mirrors the body’s biological requirements. The end result was not only a water that tasted better, but it proved to be a simple way to bring the body into a naturally-balanced state!

“I had the opportunity to do a lot of water analysis,” said Neeld, a research chemist by trade. “Parts-per-million, there are probably hundreds of things in there. If I went down to parts-per-billion, there are probably thousands of things in there. I analyzed enough water that it kind of scared me.”

Bruce Neeld

President

Bruce’s inquisitive nature and innate interest in nutrition set the stage for his development of Boulder Salt. He believes strongly that we are literally a by-product of what we eat, and that whole foods and natural supplementation lay the groundwork for optimal health.

Sebastian Sanchez

VP of Operations

Sebastian has been working in tandem with Bruce on the formulation of Boulder Salt since 2008. He has a strong technical background, having been involved in both industrial production and new product research and development for most of the past decade.

Jeff Linroth

Senior Vice-President

Jeff has been a finance professional since 1986. He worked in IBM’s International Procurement and Distribution unit for most of his 20-year career there.  He then founded Leaving It Better LLC, an independent registered investment advisory firm where he served as a business consultant, financial planner, and investment advisor for 10 years prior to joining Boulder Salt Company in 2013.
